Appalachian Consortium records
The Appalachian Consortium, in operation from 1970-2004, was a nonprofit, educational organization formed by a partnership of academic institutions dedicated to preserving the history and enhancing the future of the Southern Appalachian region. This collection contains files detailing the initial organization and continuing leadership of the Consortium, its finances and correspondence, as well as its major projects, grants, publications, and conferences.
Center for Appalachian Studies records
The records of the Center for Appalachian Studies, located at Appalachian State University, gives some history of the Center, its functions, its projects, and key people in its operations. The Center's records gives evidence of the activities that seek to encourage to study and invest in the region and its social, economic, and cultural development.
Office of the Chancellor. Herbert W. Wey Records
Dr. Herbert Wey served as Appalachian State University’s third president and first Chancellor from 1969 to 1979. The collection consists of reports, correspondence, articles, speeches, clippings, and other papers concerning the administrative operation of the campus, fund raising, student life, and academic programs of Appalachian State University.
University Archives records
The Univesity Archives was founded in 1981 to maintain records of the University that have permanent historical value. This collection consists of CDs containing the master TIFF files from the Appalachiain State University Historical Photographs Digitization Project as well as information on the Appalachian Consortium and personnel files from the University Archives.
