Dr. Margaret McFadden was a professor of Women's Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies at Appalachian State University, 1975-2009, and was the founding director of the Women's Studies program. These records contain McFadden's papers relating to her career as professor and program director, and date 1692-2009.

Abstract

The Watauga Residential College records contain the extablishment and history of this residential college, as well as files regarding its curriculum, work by its faculty, the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, and photographs of the faculty and students and their activities throughout the life of the College. The records are from 1971 to 2014.

Scope and Contents The Women's Studies Program records contain mostly administrative files dating 1975 to 2001. The record group consists of information on budgets, program development, courses, workshops, speakers, committees, and events. Files contain correspondence, clippings, surveys, reports, calendars, photographs, video and audio cassettes, and newsletters.
