Abstract The Department of Psychology provides students the opportunity to pursue either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree and also offers four master's level graduate programs. Abstract Freshman Seminar (now called First Year Seminar) was established at ASU in 1987 as a course to help students transition to college. The program operates within the University College, and all Appalachian students are required to take it.
