Content Description

78, 45, and 33 1/3 rpm records, predominantly of old-time mountain music, form the collection of Anne Gilbert. The collection also features field recordings and transcribed interviews conducted by Gilbert with musicians from the southwestern Virginia area. Additionally, Gilbert collected ephemera from regional fiddlers conventions and festivals which is also included in this donation.

The donation also includes two tater bug mandolins, a "Chicago" label banjo, a 3/4 scale fiddle, three dulcimers, one zither-type instrument, an autoharp, a banjo ukulele, a Harmony archtop guitar, a child's guitar, and a Scottish-made Bodhran.
