Judge David Campbell Cummings, Jr. memorial broadside
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one broadside which memoralizes the late Judge David Campbell Cummings, Jr. It was provided with the "compliments of Virginia Republican." The broadside was written by M. H. Honaker, James L. White, and L. P. Summers and addressed to the Honorable Francis B. Hutton, Judge of the Circuit Court of Washington County, Virginia. The writers provide biographical information about Cummings, including noting his different career achievements, as well as descriptions about his character. They want to provide tribute to Cummings by way of three resolutions: that the community lost a worthy citizen when Cummings died, that he was a fair and impartial judge, and that his family receive their sympathy.
