Photograph and ephemera related to student life at Appalachian State Teachers College collected by Jessie Sifford, a student in the mid-1930s. The photograph is of Sifford and Thelma Beam. Ephemeral items include Sifford’s Students Information Booklet, a program for a concert performed by the "Appalachian A Capella Choir," and the program for the 1937 May Day Festival.

Biographical / Historical

Jessie Sifford graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College in 1940. While a student, she was a member of the Vernician Literary Society, the "A Capella Choir," the Methodist Club, YWCA, and participated in intramural sports.
