This collection includes correspondence written to Stewart in the months preceeding his death, correspondence sent to his family after his passing, certificates, naval papers, a scrapbook of newspaper clippings about his careers, and photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Alfred Lloyd "Flucie" Stewart was born on August 5, 1906. He attended Furman University and joined Appalachian State as an assistant football coach in 1935. He was athletic director by 1940. In addition to serving as head football coach, he was also head basketball coach. He died on November 17, 1956.
