Scope and Contents
This collection includes items collected by Bryce Gordon and Izoria Sheppard Gordon during their time as students of Appalachian State Teachers College (ASTC) between 1945-1949. Included in the collection are receipts issued by ASTC, Appalachian Athletic Association tickets, ephemera, event programs, and photographs. The ephemera includes football game lineups, a library notice, invitations, a program for the 1948 Junior-Senior circus, and a program for the 1949 Junior-Senior banquet. The event programs include performances by the Playcrafters, Homecoming, music recitals, May Day Festival, choir, and concert band. The majority of the photographs are dated and identified. Subjects include Bryce Gordon and Izoria Sheppard Gordon, other ASTC students, the Flying Fish Swim Club, and athletics. Of particular note are photographs of "A" Club initiations which show male athletes in blackface and dressed in women's clothing. The collection also includes an Appalachian State Teachers College pennant.

Biographical / Historical
Bryce Gordon and Izoria Sheppard both graduated from the Appalachian State Teachers College (ASTC) in 1949. Bryce Gordon also graduated with a Masters degree in 1950 (first Masters class).
