This collection consists of a handwritten account kept by Ephraim Blaine for the year 1794. The sheet details expenses incurred by Blaine and his assistants to outfit soldiers and details the charges and payees for forage, waggonage, wood, oats, straw, hay, and other costs associated with horses. The document attests to $3721.18 being spent. During this time, Blaine was the Commissary General of Forage during the Western Expedition.

Biographical Note

Ephraim Blaine succeeded Jeremiah Wadsworth as commissary general during the American Revolution and was a resident of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
