Historical Note

The Department of Language, Reading, and Exceptionalities (renamed the Department of Reading Education and Special Education in 2010) was established in 1985 to offer courses in areas such as Reading, Special Education, and Speech Pathology & Audiology. The department currently offers undergraduate and graduate courses leading to degrees and licensures, including a B.S. in Special Education, an M.A. and Licensure in Reading Education, and an M.A. in Special Education.
