Scope and Contents
The Department of Psychology Records are primarily composed of administrative files relevant to the department. Documents include correspondence, course syllabi, grant proposals, policy and procedure reports, long-range plans, and information on curriculum. There are also memos from the Personnel Office, Registrar's Office, the Graduate School, the College of Arts and Sciences, Academic Affairs, the College of Education, and Business Affairs.

Historical Note
The Department of Education and Psychology was formed in 1961, and classes in psychology were offered as a supplement to the education curriculum. The Department of Psychology became a separate department in 1965. The current Department of Psychology offers students the opportunity to pursue either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with the option of concentrating in specific areas of study. The department also has four master's level graduate programs in Clinical Health Psychology, General Experimental Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology and HRM, and School Psychology.
