Historical Note

Appalachian has offered summer courses for nearly all of the institution’s existence. The Office of Summer Sessions currently coordinates and administrates ASU’s summer academics. Appalachian's Summer School programs promote the intellectual, cultural and personal development of students through a broad selection of curricular and extracurricular summer programs. Summer programs include workshops, seminars, and traditional courses of varying lengths to allow students to fit their summer studies into their busy summer schedule. Special courses and other programs are offered to teachers and other professionals for both enrichment and the pursuit of advanced degrees.
