This collection consists of a copy of "Old Homes and Gardens," by Minnie L. Baugh, 1939. The booklet contains her reminisces of Abingdon, Virginia and old houses and gardens in the area. The booklet refers to locations, builders, owners, and features of area houses. The booklet also discusses which residents had gardens and what was grown in them.

The foreword reveals that Minnie's sister, Ethel B. Baugh, arranged this book of Minnie's recollections, written in 1934, in her memory. It is all about their beloved town, Abingdon, Virginia.

Biographical Note

This book tells us that Miss Minnie L. Baugh was born December 14, 1857, and she wrote this booklet in 1934. Her sister, Ethel B. Baugh, published Minnie's recollections in this booklet in 1939 "as a slight tribute to her memory" so Minnie passed away between 1934 and 1939.
