Scope and Contents
This collection is of eight digitally-printed color 8"x10'" photographs of Primitive Baptist and Baptist churches. Names of two are clearly identified - Meadow Fork Primitive Baptist Church, established 1849, and Union Baptist Church, while research matched three others -Landmark Union Baptist, Liberty Baptist, and Union Primitive Baptist (established 1834) Churches, all in Alleghany County, North Carolina.
All materials are in English.
This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room without restrictions.
Most of the churches pictured in these photographs are located in Alleghany County, North Carolina. Those identified are Meadow Fork Primitive Baptist Church, established in 1849; Landmark Union Baptist Church; Liberty Baptist Church; Union Baptist Church; and Union Primitive Baptist Church, established in 1834. Two churches remain unidentified.

Provenance of this collection is unknown. The collection was accessioned in 2009 as AC.2009.025.
Processed by Anita Elliott, August 2013. This collection was processed as part of a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The grant funded extensive processing of the backlog within the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection between 2012 and 2014.
