The collection holds photographs depicting scenes of Appalachian railroads throughout the 20th Century. The more modern photographs appear to be of an excursion railroad.

The collection contains four images from the early 1900s, three of which appear to be family photographs taken on or near a rail line. The fourth photograph from this period is of a moving locomotive. The collection also includes eleven pictures of several locomotives taken in the latter half of the 20th Century.

The collection was purchased from Bookworm and Silverfish in 2010 and accessioned as AC.2010.033.
The collection was processed and finding aid generated by Trevor McKenzie, September 2013. This collection was processed as part of a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The grant funded extensive processing of the backlog within the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection between 2012 and 2014.
