Boone Chapel Church Sunday School collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a daybook and nametags associated with the Boone Chapel Church Sunday School. The daybook is dated 1937-1938 and provides a record of sunday school meetings. The entries include information such as the date, the hymn numbers sung, the attendance in various Sunday School classes and who the teachers were, and the offering for the day. Also noted are the number of visitors and names of the the superintendent and secretary. Some pages list individual names and the dates they attended.
Also in the collection are twelve individual nametags that were placed on student desks in Sunday School. The nametags were found inside the Watauga Consolidated School, which was located across the street from the church.

Historical Note
The Boone Chapel Church (Methodist) was one of three churches in the Junaluska community, located in Boone, North Carolina.

This was processed by Anita Elliott, January 2014. This collection was processed as part of a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The grant funded extensive processing of the backlog within the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection between 2012 and 2014.
