In use since the mid 1880s, the Connellsville station and lines were important in the growing steel and coal industries for the town of Connellsville, as well as providing passenger service, and making it a busy hub with three major railroads lining the river. The present-day Connellsville, Pennsylvania Train Station and tracks are still owned by CSXT, but Amtrak owns the facility and operates the trains successfully. In 2013 the annual station ridership number was 4,815 with an annual station revenue of $278,694.
