This is a DVD made of the process by which the mural "The Quest for Knowledge" was created in the atrium of Belk Library and Information Commons, Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. The mural was completed by artist Brenda Mauney Councill in 2007.

This collection is open for use in the Dougherty Reading Room without restrictions.
The new Belk Library and Information Commons building was opened for use in 2005. In 2007 Brenda Mauney Councill was commissioned to paint the mural dubbed "The Quest for Knowledge" in the open atrium area of the library. Different panels reflect the accomplishments of Appalachian State, landmarks of the area, and a tribute to the benefactor, Irwin "Ike" Belk.
