Abstract
The Appalachian Region Photographs collection contains print photographs and negatives of the Appalachian region, mostly Northwestern North Carolina, but also some parts of Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. It contains photographs, slides, and negatives. Images include Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, and Watauga Counties, and unidentified images of towns, people, and museum exhibits.

Abstract
The Public School Records for Avery and Watauga Counties contain public school records for selected districts of Watauga and Avery counties, primarily the Beech Mountain and Laurel Creek areas. Records cover various years from 1889 to 1932. The records provide students' ages, guardians' names, attendance and the teachers' comments. Some undated sheets included.
