The Board of Trustees records consist of the minutes for board meetings and retreats, as well as correspondence between the ASU Chancellor and the ASU Board of Trustees, a self-study, and membership files on former board members.

Abstract
The Elizabeth Brown Scoggins collection contains papers, photographs, documents, and artifacts spanning the history of Appalachian State and Watauga County from the 19th Century to the early 21st. Much of the collection is devoted to the Dougherty, Brown, and Bartlett families with an emphasis on concerning B.B. and D.D. Dougherty, founders of what would become Appalachian State University.

Learning Assistance Program/Upward Bound Records

Upward Bound provides academic support to high school students so they may complete high school, enroll in college, and successfully obtain a college degree. The Learning Assistance Program (LAP) provides integrated services fostering the personal development and academic growth of general and specific student populations at Appalachian. The Records of the Learning Assistance Program/Upward Bound contain some grant files, and mostly administrative and program files, dating 1972-2003.
