Abstract The Bertram Adams Papers are photocopies of the Descendants of John Adams of Cove Creek, North Carolina, books 4, 11, 12, and 13 by Bertram Adams and photocopies of various genealogical materials for the Adams family, primarily in Watauga County, North Carolina. Though undated, the materials cover a period of time from circa 1760 to circa 1950.

It appears the source was Lyman Copeland Draper's manuscript. Added in March 2013 was a paper "Contributions Towards a Boone Genealogy" possibly by H. E. Robinson, undated.
Abstract Freshman Seminar (now called First Year Seminar) was established at ASU in 1987 as a course to help students transition to college. The program operates within the University College, and all Appalachian students are required to take it. These records contain several VHS tapes pertaining to the history of Appalachian, as well as student papers, historical files, curriculum files and a file from the Educational Goals Task Force.

Abstract This collection is two letters from N.D. Ward, one addressed to Becky and Samuel and dated December 12, 1966. The other has no date or saluation, but its first sentence leads one to believe it is to Becky and Samuel, regarding their common ancestors and neighbors.

Abstract The Training Teachers of Teachers Program was established at ASU in 1969, and was designed to improve teaching at all levels by providing continuing instruction for graduate level professors. The Training Teachers of Teachers (TTT) Records contain correspondence, planning documents, reports, instructional materials, budget and accounting files, grant materials, and meeting minutes concerning the planning and implementation of the TTT program at ASU and date 1969 to 1974, when the program ended.
Abstract The William Allan Papers consists of genealogical information for over 250 northwestern North Carolina families on microfilm reels. The materials focus on Watauga County in 1942 to 1953 and include Bible records, vital records, interviews, published family histories and newspaper clippings, birth dates, marriage dates, death dates, and health problems, and attempt to illustrate the prevalence of endogamy and genetic diseases.
