Doris Stam collection
The Doris Stam collection consists of artifacts, correspondence, oral histories, papers, and photographs the Bartlett, Brown, Dougherty, Perry, Shull, and Taylor families. The collection also contains material from the early days of Appalachian State University and history of Boone, North Carolina. Doris Stam gathered the material of this collection while writing her book "Mountain Educators: The Dougherty Family and the First Fifty Years of Appalachian."

Doug Yarrow photograph collection
These photographs were taken by Doug Yarrow's high school students when he was teaching in War, West Virginia. Some of the smaller photographs have grades and critiques of the photos. The images are primarily of people (both Caucasian and African American) but there is one image of a hound dog.
Dougherty Family Bible
The Dougherty family Bible that was in the possession of the Dougherty family. The book was originally owned by Lillie Shull Dougherty. Lillie Brown Perry, granddaughter of D.D. and Lillie Shull Dougherty, donated the Bible to the University Archives in July 2005. It contains a register with the family births, deaths, and marriages. The Bible also includes clippings and loose material.

Dr. C. T. Pepper collection
This collection consists of a bill issued by Dr. C. T. Pepper (pharmacist) of Rural Retreat, Virginia on his letterhead and the accompanying envelope. The bill is dated January 5, 1900. The collection also includes a chromo lithograph tradecard for Hires Beer with "C. T. Pepper, M. D., Druggist, Rural Retreat, Va." stamped on one side.

E. Victoria Krueger interview with Gene Wilson
This collection consists of one CD of an interview of Gene Wilson by ASU student E. Victoria Krueger while enrolled in Anthropology 5120: Appalachian Culture and Social Organization. It is dated November 9, 2012 and was recorded by Don Kirby Photography. Wilson is from Wilson Creek, NC. The subject matter of the interview is unknown, and an access copy must be made in advance for access.
