Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a letter written by Colonel Samuel Tate (in Morganton, NC) by Zebulon B. Vance (in Charlotte, NC), dated September 29, 1868. Vance asks Tate for a meeting to discuss "public and personal" matters. Vance speaks of the railroad officials having him under fire and asking to speak to Tate before he makes some important decisions.
