Abstract
The G. W. F. Harper Family Diary Transcriptions are photocopies of typewritten transcriptions of the diaries of Major G. W. F. Harper of Caldwell County, North Carolina, his wife Ella Rankin Harper and her sister Emma Rankin. Harper kept diaries from 1841 to 1921 and writes about his Confederate Army service, however, the majority of the diaries date from 1881 to 1921.

Abstract
The collection is comprised of letters sent home by Private William Rufus Barlow (1827-1865) of the 18th North Carolina Infantry, Company B. The letters are primarily addressed to his wife, Elizabeth German Barlow (1840-1914). Barlow was conscripted into the Confederate Army in the summer of 1862 and reported to Camp Hill in Iredell County, North Carolina.
