This collection is made up of two copies of a broadside titled "Cowles and Hackett at Boone." The broadside is of Thomas Bingham's report of a debate between Republican R. N. Hackett and Democrat Charles Cowles. Bingham was Clerk of the Watauga County Superior Court. The debate took place in Boone, North Carolina at the courthouse on September 14, 1908.
