Abstract This is a collection of records from the Boone Christ's Church United. When it was founded in 1992 as the Metropolitian Community Church of the High Country it was the only church in the area to accept and advocate for members of the LGBT community. Its pastor Cindy Long (1960-) was at the time the only openly lesbian minister of a Christian church in Watauga County.
