J. Paul Winkler was a graduate of Appalachian State Teacher's College. He was instrumental in organizing the Burke County chapter of alumni. The J. Paul Winkler Scrapbooks, created by Winkler himself, are predominately related to the Appalachian State Teachers College football team, but also includes information realted other ASTC athletic teams and to the college.
Dr. John Workman was Professor of Economics at Appalachian State Teachers College from 1946 to 1960. The John Workman Film Collection includes 16 8mm films, both black & white and in color, mostly pertaining to ASTC and the High Country. There is also 1 VHS tape with copies of 5 of the films.
Lectures, Concerts, and Events Audio-Visual Collection contains audiovisual recordings in varying formats, and on a wide variety of subjects, dating 1949-2002. Events and subjects of the recordings include: football, the library, lectures and seminars, musical performances, and other special events, mostly on ASU's campus.
The Office of Design and Construction was created in 1996 as a separate operating unit within Business Affairs, carrying out some of the operations that used to be undertaken by the Physical Plant. These records contain documents related to daily operation of the office, files pertaining to projects carried out by the office, and a variety of administrative documents, dating 1988-2002, with bulk dates of 1993-1998.
