Scope and Contents This collection consists of one broadside which memoralizes the late Judge David Campbell Cummings, Jr. It was provided with the "compliments of Virginia Republican." The broadside was written by M. H. Honaker, James L. White, and L. P. Summers and addressed to the Honorable Francis B. Hutton, Judge of the Circuit Court of Washington County, Virginia. This collection includes tax receipts, promissory notes, land deeds, insurance assessments, and correspondence belonging to Paris French of Abingdon, Virginia. Some items pretain specifically to Washington and Smyth Counties, Virginia. Of particular note is a contract for a 1919 Ford Touring car. A few items were written by French's wife, Josephine.
