Abstract Appalachian State Teachers College, established in 1929 as a four-year college, was the precursor to Appalachian State University. The Appalachian State Teachers College Records include items such as early documents, correspondence, publications, speeches, and commencement addresses.
Abstract The largest college at Appalachian State University, the College of Arts and Sciences offers both undergraduate and graduate programs of study and currently houses 15 different academic departments. The College of Arts and Sciences Records contain meeting minutes, agendas, correspondence, reports and other administrative files, as well as VHS tapes and photos of commencement ceremonies.

Abstract Dr. John Workman was Professor of Economics at Appalachian State Teachers College from 1946 to 1960. The John Workman Film Collection includes 16 8mm films, both black & white and in color, mostly pertaining to ASTC and the High Country. There is also 1 VHS tape with copies of 5 of the films.
