Abstract

Beulah C. Campbell is a retired children’s literature and elementary education professor at Appalachian State University. Her collection includes Campbell's personal files, her collection of original illustrations for children's books, materials related to various authors and illustrators of children's books, administrative files related to Campbell's collection of children's book illustrations, and materials related to a memorial for Reverend Paul Burt, a friend of Campbell.

Abstract

The Catherine J. Smith Gallery is located in Farthing Auditorium, on the campus of Appalachian State University. It hosts both original and traveling art exhibitions. This collection consists mainly of correspondence regarding the organization of exhibitions.

The Charles Vess Autographed Illustration Posters is a collection of five oversized illustrations that were probably used in books or in bookstores, and autographed by the artist, dating 1988 to 2001.

Scope and Contents This record group contains two accessions. The Art Department Administrative Records includes administrative information regarding Art Department programs, faculty, committees and curriculum from 1976 to 1985. His papers contain photographs, scrapbooks, recordings, annotated scores, correspondence, concert programs and awards relating primarily to his career as a conductor.
