Abstract This is a collection of color photographs and slides of Dr. William Gilbert Spencer, Stanley Hicks, Jean Ritchie, and Leonard Glenn, along with students in Dr. Spencer's Dulcimer Classes at Appalachian State University. Most photographs were dated from the 1980's.

Abstract The Lucy Long papers are photocopies of Lucy Long's field notes, releases, and tape information generated for a project entitled "The Appalachian Oral History" and conducted by Long in the summer of 1980. Long studied the Hicks family of Beech Mountain and the use of the dulcimer.
